Eastern Province

The Eastern Province is the largest and the most economically vital region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Renowned as the heart of the nation’s energy sector, the Eastern Province is home to a significant concentration of oil and gas reserves, as well as some of the Kingdom’s largest industrial and petrochemical enterprises. Jubail stands as a globally recognized model of planned industrial development, while Al-Ahsa Oasis — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — reflects the region’s rich cultural and historical legacy as one of the oldest inhabited areas of the Arabian Peninsula.

Contributing approximately 60% of the national GDP, the Eastern Province is the cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s industrial landscape. Its dynamic economy spans key sectors such as petrochemicals, steel, aluminum, cement, plastics, and logistics, earning it the title: “The Industrial Capital of the Gulf.” With its strategic location, thriving industry, and deep-rooted heritage, the Eastern Province plays a pivotal role in advancing the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and diversifying its economic future.
